Pottery begins in the simplest way; with stoneware clay, a wheel, and a ton of patience.
After the piece has dried to a consistency known as leather hard, leaves, carvings, and handles are applied. The piece then requires five to seven days to dry out completely.
After the bisque firing, a glaze is applied. This is where the pot gets its beautiful color.
The final step is the glaze firing, where temperatures reach approximately 2400 degrees. From start to finish, the entire process takes about two weeks.
