Raku Firing Experience

Our Raku firing experience invites you into the excitement of this dramatic, hands-on pottery tradition. Our introductory cost is $99 per guest, which covers:

✔️ Pre-made bisqued vase with a base glaze already applied
✔️ Tools and materials to paint your unique glaze design (for use during your session)
✔️ Apron use (provided on-site)
✔️ Your finished vase to take home at the end
✔️ Optional add-on for our pottery experience to make your own piece with self-hardening clay while your raku vase is firing - discounted price of $30/ball when added to the Raku experience

During this activity, you’ll select a pre-made bisqued vase with a base glaze already applied. From there, you’ll add your own touch by painting on the final oxidized glaze.

Once you’ve finished glazing, you’ll watch as your piece goes through the Raku firing process — a fast and fascinating method that brings out beautiful, unpredictable surface effects. Best of all, you’ll get to take your finished vase home the very same day.

The entire experience takes about 2 hours and is perfect for anyone curious about the fiery side of pottery — no prior experience needed.  Located at 623 Glades Road, Gatlinburg, TN.

Please note: due to the nature of the Raku firing process, Raku pottery is porous and not watertight. It’s best suited for decorative use.
