The Potter's Hands

March 14, 2019

Pottery is one of the world's most ancient crafts dating back even before people learned to farm.  The potter's wheel was first introduced around 3000 BC in West Asia. Over time the craft of pottery became more refined and decorative.  From a lump of clay potters would spin the wheel and mold their art with the finesse of their hands.

While there is new machinery and methods that remove the artist from the pottery process by way of mass production, we remain dedicated to maintaining the ancient tradition of wheel thrown pottery. Each individual piece is uniquely crafted by one of our artisans which insures that no two pieces are exactly the same. Experience Gatlinburg shopping from the comfort of your own home by browsing our online store.
